It is estimated that more than one billion people in the world live with some form of disability. Within this group are those people who have suffered amputation of one or both upper limbs. One way to meet the need created by this disability is hand prostheses. The function of these medical devices is to replace the missing part of the body, which gives back to the person part of the functionality of his body and also provides a perception of completeness by regaining mobility and appearance. Most of the existing prostheses on the market are rigid devices, which hinders efficiency and the ability to interact with the environment safely. That is why one option to improve prostheses is Soft-Robotics technology, or soft robotics, since it allows imitating the movement of a human hand and provides a safer interaction with the environment in which the person is developing. The objective of this degree work is to make an adaptation of the hand prosthesis based on Soft-Robotics PrExhand so that it can be evaluated in functional tests by non-pathological users. In these tests, the aim is to determine the functionality of the prosthesis and the improvements that should be made in the future. In order to meet this objective, a literature review was carried out in order to obtain information on hand prosthesis control systems and the types of functional tests that can be performed on these devices. Once this information was obtained, a control system was adapted for the prosthesis using electromyography (EMG), in order to give the user greater autonomy. In addition to this adaptation, the fingers of the prosthesis were coated with silicone in order to improve the grip system and also to have an appearance closer to the human hand. In order to carry out this degree work, two protocols were created, one with the purpose of selecting non-pathological users to perform the functional tests and another one in which the functional test to be performed by each user was proposed, obtaining as a result, quantitative data that allow the comparison of the PrExHand prosthesis with other prostheses under investigation and with some that are in the market and whose characteristics are similar. The results obtained show that the PrExHand prosthetic hand had an acceptable performance when performing the functional test with a control group of 4 non-pathological users, with a result of 2.94 on the AM-ULA (Activities Measure for Upper Limb Amputees) test scale, and the tasks performed presented variations in a range of 0.70 % to 77.96 %. The research shows that PrExHand has a 17.60 % lower percentage difference compared to a control group that used the SoftHand Pro prosthesis. From these results it was concluded that the hand prosthesis performs adequately in activities of daily living. However, it requires improvements in both the myoelectric control system, in order to make it more sensitive to the user's EMG signals and also an improvement in the closure of the fingers of the prosthesis.
